ART ROOM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Cove art teachers are looking for volunteers to help out in the art room this year for the younger grades.  She is looking for help in only the kindergarten, first, second and third grade classes, as the older kids seem to get the routine and are more self- sufficient.  With the younger kids, and the size of these classes, it is essential that she has another pair of hands to help the little hands!  If you like to roll up your sleeves and jump into projects with the students then this is the volunteer opportunity for you! This is NOT a chance to sit down and work one-on-one with your own child.  The art room is a busy place and class time is very limited.  Volunteer duties include visiting tables to help students understand the projects, organizing and distributing supplies, hanging art, and helping with special projects and exhibits. We ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes before and plan to stay 5-10 minutes after the class to help out with set-up and clean-up. 

Check the art room schedule below to find your child’s class time. If you can’t make your child’s class time, than feel free to take on another class time you can make it to. If there is more than one volunteer per class, a class leader will be chosen so that a rotating schedule can be arranged.    The following information is required: your name, telephone number, student’s name, grade, teacher, and any scheduling requests (every week, every-other week, etc.).  You will be contacted by the end of October to confirm the start date, either by email or phone.  Due to the large number of volunteers in the past, email is preferable. Also, please note that all volunteers must complete a CORI form (available in the main office). The following is the 2007-08 Art schedule, the 2008-09 schedule will be posted soon.
